Baltimore County to hold public hearing on proposed White Marsh compost facility

TOWSON, MD—County officials will be holding a public hearing next month to discuss a proposed compost facility in White Marsh.

In accordance with the amended Annotated Code of Maryland, Environment Article Section 9-503, the Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation is proposing an amendment to the County’s Ten Year Solid Waste Management Plan (“the Plan”) regarding a proposed compost facility at 11235 and 11239 Philadelphia Road in White Marsh.



For community input, a public hearing is being held in cooperation with the County Planning Board. The hearing is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 5 p.m. in Room 104 of the Jefferson Building in Towson, located at 105 West Chesapeake Avenue.

Changes in the hearing time or location will be posted on the Planning Board website; residents should check the above website for updates as the hearing date approaches. County representatives will be present at the hearing to accept questions and comments.

The proposed Plan amendment language is available on the Baltimore County website, from the Bureau of Solid Waste Management directly ([email protected] or 410-887-2000) and at every branch of the Baltimore County Public Library system.
