Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputy taken to Shock Trauma following Joppa crash

JOPPA, MD—A police officer was injured in a crash in Joppa on Monday evening.

At around 5:30 p.m., a deputy with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office was driving on routine patrol when he was struck by another vehicle on Route 7 at Joppa Road.



He was transported to Shock Trauma for treatment of his injuries.

The roadway was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.

The deputy was released from the hospital at just before 7:30 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation at this hour.
