BALTIMORE, MD—Maryland’s public school system has been ranked among the top ten in the U.S., according to WalletHub.
Unlike other research that focuses primarily on academic outcomes or school finance, WalletHub’s analysis takes a more comprehensive approach. It accounts for performance, funding, safety, class size, and instructor credentials.
Maryland came in at number five on the list, right behind Virginia. Massachusetts was ranked number one, with Connecticut and New Jersey rounding out the top three.
Schools in Massachusetts and Alaska were ranked the safest, while schools in the District of Columbia and Delaware had the lowest incidences of bullying. Massachusetts also had the highest math test scores and reading test scores.
