BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Sunday in the Baltimore area.
Heat index values of around 105 degrees are expected, with the highest values occurring along and east of I-95.
The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses to occur.
Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on elderly relatives and neighbors. Officials say children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
Residents should also reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening, know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
