BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Baltimore area. The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 21st.
Heat index values of 105 to 109 degrees are expected. Forecasters says the hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.
Residents are encourage to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
Those who must work outside should take extra precautions. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
