Baltimore County, BGE crews working around the clock to restore power following severe storms

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Officials said on Friday that crews are working around the clock to restore power for those residents who are still in the dark following Tuesday’s severe storms.

BGE officials say the company expects to have service restored to most customers by Friday night.

Due to extensive damage to equipment that serves a small number of customers, these particular restoration times may be extended through the end of the weekend.

There are currently an additional 1,230 employees/contractors from surrounding states working in BGE’s service area and employees are working shifts around the clock.

Baltimore County’s Department of Public Works and Transportation is continuing to work with BGE to remove trees and debris and clear roads so the energy company can make the repairs necessary to lines and restore power to all affected.

There have been representatives from BGE and the American Red Cross at the Jacksonville Senior Center and the Cockeysville and Hereford libraries throughout the day, and BGE will be back on Saturday, during operating hours.

Workers will continue to work throughout the weekend until service is returned to all.
