ROSEDALE, MD—Two separate education-related ceremonies were held in Rosedale on Thursday.
Firstly, BCPS Superintendent Dr. Darryl L. Williams and Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski joined members of the Board of Education of Baltimore County and the Baltimore County delegation in officially breaking ground for a new replacement school for Red House Run Elementary School.
The $59.7 million project will nearly double the size of the school and boost the school’s capacity from 486 seats to 775 seats. Designed to relieve overcrowding and to provide a modern learning center for the community, the new school is scheduled to open to students in 2024.
The address will be 1717 Weyburn Road in Rosedale (21237).
Secondly, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the new location of the Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools’ eastside Exchangeree.
The Exchangeree: Gizmos and Gadgets Galore, in partnership with Merritt Companies, is a resource center for BCPS educators offering them free access to donated school and classroom supplies and a meeting space. This event celebrates a new, larger eastside location.
The Education Foundation of BCPS is a private, nonprofit organization committed to building and providing resources to support BCPS students, educators, and schools.
