NOTTINGHAM, MD—The Sierra Club, the nation’s largest environmental advocacy organization, has endorsed Baltimore County Councilman David Marks for reelection.
“I am very happy to tell you that the Sierra Club has endorsed your candidacy for Baltimore county council in the 2022 election cycle,” wrote Marie LaPorte, political chair of the Greater Baltimore Group of the Sierra Club. “We greatly appreciate your commitment and passion to protect the environment, and we look forward to a strong relationship.”
“I am truly honored by this endorsement,” said Councilman Marks. “Preserving green space, protecting our waterways, and addressing the impact of climate change should be bipartisan goals. I look forward to a terrific relationship with the Sierra Club as we move forward.”
Since taking office, Councilman Marks has advanced eleven new parks, passed legislation that protected 4,000 acres as open space zoning, and strongly supported stream restoration projects and clean-ups of environmentally sensitive areas.
