Joppa Road grocery store sells winning $50,000 Powerball ticket

NOTTINGHAM, MD—A winning, $50,000 Powerball ticket was sold in the Nottingham area for the drawing on Monday, April 25th.

Weis Markets, located at 4126 East Joppa Road (21236), sold the lucky ticket that was among 21,713 winning tickets sold in Maryland for the drawing.



No one hit the jackpot, which rolled to an estimated annuity value of $454 million for the Wednesday, April 27 drawing. The estimated cash value is $271.9 million.

The Maryland Lottery is looking for the lucky player who bought the $50,000 third-tier winning ticket from Weis Markets.  The winning numbers to match were 12, 18, 20, 39 and 61; the Powerball was 10.

This year, including this win, the state has now sold 25 third-tier, winning $50,000 Powerball tickets and two $50,000 Double Play third-tier winning tickets.

Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
