Detectives shoot driver who rammed police vehicle during arrest in Dundalk

DUNDALK, MD—Detectives shot a driver on Thursday who rammed a police vehicle while they were making an arrest in Dundalk.

At around 1:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, Baltimore County detectives were in the area of Avon Avenue and Maryland Avenue in Dundalk attempting to arrest a suspect in connection with a 2021 homicide.



During the arrest, a vehicle on-scene began ramming into a police vehicle, at which time detectives discharged their firearms striking the driver inside the vehicle.

Officers immediately rendered aid to the suspect, whom medics then transported to an area hospital.

Per department policy, the officers have been placed on routine administrative duty. This police-involved shooting remains part of an open investigation.
