Starbucks at former Bel-Loc Diner site closes permanently

TOWSON, MD—The Starbucks location that opened at the site of the former Bel-Loc Diner has closed permanently.

Back in November, it was believed that the shop had “temporarily shuttered,” but a Starbucks spokesperson this week confirmed to WMAR that the store had closed for good.

“After careful consideration, we’ve determined it is best to close our store at Joppa Road and Loch Raven Boulevard in Towson, MD,” Starbucks said. “We are grateful for the contributions from our partners (employees) at this store, and all partners have been given the opportunity to transfer to a neighboring store of their choice. We will continue to serve our customers at our nearby location at Honeygo Blvd, a 10-minute drive away.”

Increasing crime in the area was cited as a reason for the temporary closure back in November, which has now become permanent.

The Bel-Loc Diner closed its doors in 2017.

There has been no word on any new plans for the location.
