Harford County Sheriff’s Office announces passing of agency’s first bloodhound

HARFORD COUNTY, MD—The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is saying goodbye to a furry companion.

This week, HCSO announced the passing of retired K-9 Carley.

Carley was HCSO’s first bloodhound and was partnered with Sr. Dep. Charlie Holthaus in 2010.

Carley “retired” from the department in 2020.

“Join us in our prayers for Sr. Dep. Holthaus and his family,” HCSO said on Wednesday.
