NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for portions of Baltimore County.
The watch covers northern Baltimore County and will be in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.
Forecasters say significant snow and wintry precipitation are expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are likely, with up to 5 inches possible. Ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are also likely. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.
Snow may fall at a rate of 1 to 3 inches per hour late Sunday afternoon and early Sunday evening, resulting in nearly impassable roads.
Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.
The storm track is not yet set in stone. Residents are encouraged to stay tuned to local forecasts.
