Roads reopened following Nottingham standoff

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Roads in the Dunfield community are being reopened following a Friday morning standoff.

At around 9 a.m., police responded to the area of Arwell Court to perform a welfare check when the situation quickly escalated, according to witnesses at the scene.

Police say the situation has now “been resolved.” Councilman David Marks reports that the individual sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound. There has been no word on his or her condition.

Authorities have not yet provided additional details, but per Julie Henn, with the Baltimore County Board of Education, there will be no impacts to school bus dropoffs in this area.

Police will brief the public soon.
