BALTIMORE, MD—Although players in California and Wisconsin will split the massive $632.6 million Powerball jackpot, three Maryland players were also big winners in the January 5 drawing with tickets worth $1,000,004 and $50,000.
The winning numbers were 6, 14, 25, 33 and 46 with a Power Ball of 17.
In all, Maryland Lottery retailers sold 60,869 winning tickets for the January 5 drawing with prizes ranging from $4 to $1,000,004.
Lottery officials are looking for the lucky players who bought these winning tickets:
- $1,000,004 — Sold by E&C Mid Atlantic (Shell convenience store and gas station), 700 Gaither Road, Rockville (Montgomery County).
- $50,000 — Sold by Crossroads Exxon, 8101 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena (Anne Arundel County).
- $50,000 — Sold by Westlake Wine & Beer, 10442 Auto Park Avenue, Bethesda (Montgomery County).
As the Powerball jackpot began to surge, Maryland saw many big winners. From December 1 through the January 5 drawing, there were 20 tickets sold in Maryland worth at least $50,000, including a pair of $2 million prizes, a pair of $1 million prizes, one prize of $100,000 and 15 prizes of $50,000.
Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. Winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes.
The $632.6 million Powerball jackpot, which was the seventh-largest jackpot in Powerball history, resets to $20 million for the January 8 drawing with a cash option of $14.2 million.
Maryland is home to three Powerball jackpot wins: $731.1 million in January 2021 (Lonaconing, Allegany County); $128.8 million in December 2011 (Elkton, Cecil County) and $108.8 million in September 2011 (Abingdon, Harford County).
