Shooting reported in Nottingham

UPDATE 2: Police now tell NottinghamMD.com that only one suspect was shot and is being treated. The victim has been taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.

UPDATE: A police spokesperson tells NottinghamMD.com that officers responded to the 8000-block of Belair Road for a report of a shooting. Initial investigation revealed that the shooting occurred outside of a nearby apartment complex. Two victims were transported by medic to local hospitals in unknown condition. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit have been notified and have taken investigative responsibility.

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Police are responding to a Tuesday evening shooting in Nottingham.

The incident was reported at around 4:15 p.m. in the area of Canogla Place at Walfield Drive (21236).

Initial reports indicate that at least two people were shot, one in the back.  There has been no words on the victims’ condition.

No suspect information is available at this time.  A police helicopter is assisting with the search.

Motorists should avoid the area.
