Dusting of snow expected in Baltimore area overnight

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The first appreciable snowfall of the season will arrive overnight, but it won’t be much.

The National Weather Service expects that the Baltimore area will see a dusting to 1 inch of snow overnight, mostly on grassy areas.

The precipitation will likely arrive in the early morning hours on Wednesday.

“We are preparing for our first snow of the season tomorrow, which will mainly impact areas north of Baltimore and Western Maryland,” said Governor Larry Hogan on Tuesday afternoon. “Although we anticipate less than 0.1″ of snow and travel disruptions are unlikely, salt brine will be applied in some potentially affected areas.”

The precipitation is expected to exit the region by 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
