HALETHORPE, MD—Many Baltimore County residents are waking up to the smell of smoke on Thanksgiving morning.
The Baltimore County Fire Department reports that a fire broke out at a recycling plant in Halethorpe early Thursday morning.
The blaze broke out at around 2:30 a.m. at a plant in the 2200-block of Halethorpe Farms Road.
Crews are continuing to work to bring the massive fire under control. Hazmat units are on the scene.
A second, two-alarm house fire broke out at around 4:30 a.m. in the 3600-block of S. Hanover Street.
The smell of smoke and hazy skies are present as far away as Rosedale.
