BALTIMORE, MD—A days-long manhunt has ended in tragedy.

On Thursday afternoon, Robert Vicosa (a former Baltimore County police officer), Sgt. Tia Bynum, and both Vicosa daughters were found dead following a crash in Smithsburg.  All them died of an apparent gunshot wound, sources say.

Vicosa had been on the run since Monday, when he attacked his estranged wife in her Pennsylvania home, then fled with their two young daughters and with Tia Bynum.

On Wednesday afternoon, Vicosa carjacked a man in Cockeysville. A Thursday afternoon pursuit ended with a crash in western Maryland, followed by the discovery of all four deceased individuals.

The U.S. Marshals Service had offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Vicosa’s capture.

The former police officer was wanted on charges of kidnapping, carjacking, assault, and robbery.
