Baltimore County to host public meeting on Land Preservation, Recreation and Parks

TOWSON, MD—In the latest effort to gather community input on the County’s 2022 Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan, the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks will host a virtual public meeting on Thursday, November 18 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

During the meeting, community members will learn about the planning process and have the opportunity to speak about their needs for recreation and parks in Baltimore County.  More information, including the current 2017 plan is available online here.

“Creating opportunities to hear directly from County residents is fundamental in our ongoing work to plan for the future of our community’s recreational needs,” said Baltimore County Recreation and Parks Director Roslyn Johnson. “We look forward to hearing from residents to help inform our vision for capital projects including parks and open spaces, program improvements, and more over the next five years.”

The County’s Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan aids in strategic and capital resource planning to develop and maintain parks, open spaces, recreational opportunities, natural resources, and agricultural land. Officials say resident input through this survey will help to guide land preservation and recreation priorities over the next five years.
