Councilman Marks: Popeye’s to open new restaurant on Belair Road

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Popeye’s restaurant has submitted a plan to build at the derelict property located at 8832 Belair Road in Perry Hall/Nottingham, Councilman David Marks announced on Thursday.

This site is located across from the new Massoni’s Italian Restaurant, at a dilapidated property in the heart of the Perry Hall commercial revitalization district.

Under legislation passed by Councilman Marks, every new development in the Perry Hall commercial revitalization district will be evaluated by the Baltimore County Design Review Panel, which requires better landscaping, monumental signage, and enhanced architectural standards.

The Maryland State Highway Administration will need to approve access to the property.

“Nine years ago, I passed legislation that created the Perry Hall commercial revitalization district, and we have seen the success of that initiative, from redevelopment at the Perry Hall Square Shopping Center to the area that now includes Massoni’s Italian Restaurant,” said Councilman Marks. “This new business will need to meet more rigid design standards and access will be approved by the state.”
