Flash Flood Watch issued for Baltimore metro area

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Baltimore metro area.

The watch covers Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Harford County, and several other counties, and will be in effect until 9 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Slow moving showers and thunderstorms will produce very heavy rainfall, potentially leading to areas of flash flooding.  Rainfall rates may reach two inches per hour.

Residents should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
