PERRY HALL, MD—Councilman David Marks on Thursday shared the following update on the Joppa Road bridge from the county bridge team:
“Progress on the Bridge No. B-0545 Joppa Road project is being made and we are hopeful to have it re-opened to traffic in mid-October,” the update stated. “The precast concrete beams have been ordered and currently we are reviewing the detailed shop drawings provided by the fabricator.”
”Review of these shop drawings is of the highest priority. Once we completed our review the fabricator will be able to manufacture the beams,” the team continued. “This process will take a few weeks as the concrete beams need to cure for a period of time before shipping to the site.”
“We do appreciate the inconvenience to the travelling public and are doing all we can to push this project along,” the update concluded.
The Joppa Road bridge, which is located between Snyder Lane and Honeygo Boulevard, has been closed for repairs since January.
