NOTTINGHAM, MD—Friday the 13th will likely be hot and stormy in the Baltimore area.

Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible from late Friday morning through the evening hours.

The primary threat will be damaging wind gusts downing trees and power lines in some areas.

The heat index is expected to top out at around 107 degrees.

A Heat Advisory and Code Orange Air Quality Alert are also in effect for Friday.
