DEALE, MDβAn Anne Arundel County woman caught some unique weather on video on Sunday morning.
Victoria Ambrose captured video of a waterspout over the Chesapeake Bay near Deale, MD at around 7 a.m. on Sunday as showers and storms moved through the area.
According to weather.gov, a waterspout is defined by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as “funnel which contains an intense vortex, sometimes destructive, of small horizontal extent and which occurs over a body of water.”
A waterspout was also captured on video in Bethany Beach, DE on Friday.
The National Weather Service says boaters should always steer clear of waterspouts when out on the water, as they can easily overturn vessels and produce strong winds.
Twin waterspouts also appeared over the water (see featured photo) at around the same time.
