TOWSON, MD—Parents and concerned citizens who oppose Baltimore County Public Schools‘ mask mandate, which was announced earlier this week, will be holding a rally next month.
The Baltimore County Parent and Student Coalition will be holding an “Unmask Our Kids Rally” at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10th,
The event will be held at the BCPS Greenwood Campus, located at 6901 N. Charles Street in Towson (21204).
“We are holding a UnMask Our Kids Rally to express our deep dissatisfaction about Dr. (Darryl) Williams, BCPS Superintendent, email dated 7/28/2021 mandating universal masking for all students and staff indoors in schools for the fall of the 2021-2022 school year,” reads the official announcement. “Please bring signs!”
Both Councilman David Marks and Baltimore County School Board member Julie Henn have spoken out about the manner in which the decision was announced, but each stopped short of decrying the actual mandate itself.
