NOTTINGHAM, MD—Four lucky Maryland Lottery players traveled to Las Vegas earlier this week to participate in the JAMES BOND Lottery Challenge.
The Marylanders, along with 108 other participants from lotteries across the country, were playing for the chance to win up to $1 million. Although no Maryland Lottery winner became a millionaire, all four came home with a little extra money in their pockets.
The four Maryland winners and their prizes won are as follows:
- Asam Mushtaq from Nottingham (Baltimore County) won $25,350
- Tara Tucker from Riverside (Harford County) won $13,250
- Bertha Woodland from Upper Marlboro (Prince George’s County) won $13,900 (Bertha’s son Chauncey participated on her behalf as a proxy)
- Bonita Mitchell from Baltimore City won $9,975
Mushtaq called the trip “a wonderful experience.”
“Everything about my trip was great,” he said. “I am glad I got to take part in the opportunity to win $1 million, and I’m thankful for my winnings.”
Tucker said she is looking forward to using her prize to get a sunroof in her car and will also add to her savings.
“The whole production from start to finish was completely amazing,” Tucker said.
The trip took place July 10-14, 2021. In addition to the cash prizes won at the event, each participant received round-trip airfare for two to Las Vegas, deluxe hotel accommodations for four nights, $1,000 spending money and the opportunity to play in the JAMES BOND Lottery Challenge.
The Maryland Lottery’s JAMES BOND Lottery Challenge second-chance promotion ran from March 23, 2020-October 13, 2020. To enter, Lottery players submitted non-winning JAMES BOND 007™ scratch-off tickets into the My Lottery Rewards program. Winners were randomly selected from more than 960,000 entries.
