BCPS Office of Budget and Reporting honored with 14th national award for distinguished budget presentation

TOWSON, MD—For the 14th year, the Baltimore County Public Schools Office of Budget and Reporting has been recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association.

In 2019, the name of the award BCPS has received multiple times was changed from the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to the Award for Best Practices in School Budgeting. This award represents excellence in the preparation and issuance in school system budget reporting.

“BCPS takes very seriously its obligation to use every resource responsibly on behalf of our students, staff, and communities,“ said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Darryl L. Williams. “Fulfilling that obligation requires clarity in budget presentations. I am so proud of our Budget and Reporting staff for their expertise and dedication for producing such excellent presentations.”

The Office of Budget and Reporting has received notification that the Government Finance Officers Association award program has been discontinued. BCPS will continue to participate in the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) budget award program.
