Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for southern Baltimore County

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southern Baltimore County.  The warning will remain in effect until 3:45 p.m.

At 3:00 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Lochearn, or near Pikesville, moving east at 35 mph.

The primary threats associated with this storm are 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.

Damaging winds may cause some trees and large branches to fall. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

Locations impacted include Baltimore City, Overlea, Fullerton, Rosedale, Rossville, Golden Ring, Towson, Essex, Middle River, Parkville, Carney, and Perry Hall.



Residents should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
