NOTTINGHAM, MD—Did Sunday seem cooler than usual for this time of year? It wasn’t your imagination.
For the second day in a row, the Baltimore area set a new record low maximum temperature.
The high on Sunday was a mere 57°F at BWI airport. That broke the former record low max temp for May 30 of 58°F set 106 years ago in 1915.
Saturday’s high of 56°F also broke the record low max temp for May 29 of 57°F that had been set in 2014.
Memorial Day should warm up significantly with highs in the mid-70s, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will continue to rise throughout the week, reaching the mid-80s by next weekend.
