NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Nottingham area.
The warning will be in effect until 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday and covers Parkville, Hillendale, Carney, Nottingham, Perry Hall, White Marsh, Overlea, Fullerton, Linover, Rosedale, Rossville, Golden Ring, and other areas covered in the graphic below.
At just before 5:30 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Ellicott City to Columbia to near Fairland, moving east at 35 mph.
These storms pack 60 mph wind gusts.
Damaging winds could cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.
Residents are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
