Councilman Marks: Joppa Road reopening still planned for July

PERRY HALL, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Monday evening announced that the Joppa Road bridge near Honeygo Elementary School is still set for a reopening in July.

Over the past two months, the existing top portions of the bridge have been removed.

County engineers have surveyed the exposed portions of the structure that are to be re-used, and now they are undertaking the necessary engineering design activities.

The county hopes to have its contractor back on-site within the next week to continue construction activities.

“This has been an extraordinarily frustrating experience for many motorists, and I thank everyone for their patience,” said Councilman Marks, who grew up about a half-mile from this bridge. “I will do all I can to continue to advocate for a speedy resolution to this situation.”
