Maryland’s indoor mask mandate to be lifted on Saturday

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan has announced that Maryland’s indoor mask mandate will be lifted on Saturday, May 15th.

Governor Hogan made the announcement at a Friday afternoon press conference, citing the state’s improved health metrics and this week’s similar recommendation from the CDC.

“Today is the day that so many of us have been waiting for and working toward,” Governor Hogan said. “We finally do clearly see the light at the end of that tunnel. Our long, hard-fought battle against the worst global pandemic in more than a century is finally nearing an end.”

“As many of us take off our masks and start to put this pandemic behind us, I ask each and every one of you to please just be kind and respectful of one another,” the Governor added.

Baltimore County officials have not yet issued a statement.
