NOTTINGHAM, MD—The calm weather over the past few days may come to an end in the Baltimore area on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service says strong and/or severe thunderstorms may be possible late Wednesday morning and into Wednesday afternoon near the Interstate 95 corridor as a strong cold front passes through the region.
Damaging wings and large hail will be the primary threats associated with this system. Gusty winds will move in behind the front, leading to falling temperatures.
In addition, a Freeze Warning has been issued for northern Baltimore County. The warning will be in effect from midnight on Wednesday until 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Thursday’s high will only be in the low 50s before high temperatures return to the 60s over the weekend.
