County passes bill allowing police retirees to continue serving Baltimore County

NOTTINGHAM, MD— On Monday night, the Baltimore County Council passed legislation sponsored by Councilmen Tom Quirk (D-Catonsville) and David Marks (R-Perry Hall) that will allow for police retirees to be hired back by the county if they provide specialized knowledge that will benefit the county.

Police retirees are one group that could be rehired by the county. The legislation was strongly supported by the Baltimore County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #4.

“We once again thank Councilman Quirk and Councilman Marks for working on sensible legislation that will protect our communities,” said Dave Rose, president of Lodge #4.

The legislation passed unanimously.
