NOTTINGHAM, MD—Spring isn’t here quite yet, but it may feel like it later this week.
The National Weather Service says that the Mid-Atlantic states will see a big warm-up this week.
High temperatures will climb upward each day in the Baltimore area, peaking at right around 70 degrees on both Thursday and Friday.
The Brood X 17-year cicadas are expected to return in mid-May this year, however they will emerge as soon as the soil temperature 8 inches underground reaches 64 degrees.
Will this brief warm-up trigger an early appearance?
Only time will tell.
