Shooting reported in Carney, suspect arrested

CARNEY, MD—Police have arrested and identified a suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred in Carney over the weekend.

At just after 6 a.m. on Sunday, February 28, officers responded to the 2700-block of Cold Stream Way (21234) for a report of a shooting.



Upon arrival, police found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the lower body.

The victim was taken to a local hospital to undergo surgery and is in stable condition.

Authorities have determined that the shooting was domestic in nature. The suspect arrived at Cold Stream Way causing a disturbance, where he was confronted by the victim. The suspect displayed a handgun and shot the victim before leaving the scene.

Officers located the suspect shortly thereafter and identified him as 28-year-old Tyrone Vaughan Moss of the 700-block of E. 21st Street (21218).

Moss was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no-bail status pending a bail review hearing.
