Freezing drizzle expected overnight, BCPS to remain virtual

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Frozen precipitation will persist through the overnight hours, forecasters say.

The National Weather Service says light freezing rain or freezing drizzle is expected in Baltimore County. Light snow showers are also possible as the back end of the recent storm system exits the region.

Motorists should expect icy conditions and prepare for overnight refreezing, especially on bridges and overpasses.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 a.m. on Friday.

Baltimore County Public Schools officials, meanwhile, have announced that virtual learning will continue on Friday. Athletic practices and events will also be virtual.

School employees should work remotely. “Essential” employees should report on time for assigned shifts. “Essential as Needed” employees should report to work as scheduled (including working remotely) or may request to use leave time.

Other office staff should work remotely.
