Public input needed for Baltimore County school construction plans

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD—Baltimore County Public Schools and Baltimore County government have released an online public survey to gather community input on school construction priorities in the coming years.

Baltimore County and BCPS are working in collaboration to develop a long-range plan for identifying and prioritizing capital improvements to all schools. In addition to the community survey, community members have also been able to participate in virtual community forums.

The first survey is open now and will remain open through Feb. 15, 2021. A second survey will be available in April. Both surveys and the community forums will help guide BCPS and Baltimore County government about school construction decisions.

The Multi-Year Improvement Plan for All Schools (MYIPAS) will be completed in two phases. Phase One focused on recommendations for high schools. Phase Two is focusing on recommendations for elementary and middle schools, and other specialty schools and centers.

Final recommendations are expected in fall 2021 and will include a comprehensive analysis of all BCPS schools. Community members may view previous meetings, review documents, and provide general comments on the MYIPAS website.
