Rosedale scratch-off winner claims $30,000 prize

ROSEDALE, MD—“Ms. Tremaine” of Baltimore, who works a late-shift job at a medical facility, passes the time during her work breaks playing scratch-offs and checking for wins on Pick 3 and Pick 4 games she buys before work.

The essential worker recently enjoyed a sweet surprise when she discovered a $30,000 top-prize win on a Peppermint Payout X3 scratch-off.

The 37-year-old has played Maryland Lottery games since her 18th birthday, when she began with BINGO and crossword scratch-offs. Currently, she loves to play Ravens and UNO™ scratch-offs. On the day the scratch-off fan visited King Liquors in Rosedale, however, she got a feeling that she should buy all of the remaining $3 Peppermint Payout X3 scratch-offs. As it turns out, her gut feeling was spot on.

“I was so excited after I realized I won,” she said. “I went straight home and called my son and told him it was an emergency and to come over and take a look at my ticket, just to be sure I won.” She added, “It was funny because he doesn’t play the Lottery but he was able to tell I won the top prize!”

The Baltimore City grandmother of two plans to save the money she won to purchase a house. The lucky lady is looking forward to moving sometime later this year. “2021 will definitely be my year!” she said.

“Ms. Tremaine” isn’t the only big winner. King Liquors located at 8226 Pulaski Highway in Baltimore received a $300 bonus for selling the $30,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
