Flags lowered in Maryland to honor fallen police officer

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan has ordered the U.S. Flag & Maryland State Flag lowered to half-staff effective immediately.

This action is being taken to honor Master Police Officer Christine Peters of the Greenbelt Police Department.



Officer Peters passed away on Thursday from injuries sustained in the line of duty on January 2nd.

“Flags are flying at half-staff in memory of Master Police Officer Christine Peters of (the Greenbelt Police Department), who passed away (Thursday) due to injuries she sustained in the line of duty,” Governor Hogan said. “Please join me and the First Lady in praying for her friends, loved ones, and colleagues.”
