Belair Road to remain closed until Tuesday

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Repairs were still being made on a ruptured water main along Belair Road on Sunday afternoon.

The busy thoroughfare has been shut down from Necker Avenue to Klosterman Avenue since Thursday, after a 12-inch diameter main ruptured, leaving approximately 200 customers without service.

Contractors now say they hope to have Belair Road reopened to traffic by Tuesday.

Crews are in the process of pulling up damaged roadway and laying a new base coat, according to Councilman David Marks.

Motorists should use an alternate route.
