ROSEDALE, MD—Police are investigating a shooting shooting in the parking lot of the Golden Ring Shopping Center that killed a man on Sunday evening.
At just before 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for a shooting in the parking lot near the Walmart and Sam’s Club in the 6400-block of Petrie Way (21237).
At the scene, police found an adult man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. The man, identified as 20-year-old Kumar Jumar Burney, of the 5300-block of King Arthur Circle (21237), was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and determined that the victim had met at least one other person on the parking lot prior to the shooting. They are continuing the investigation into the circumstances that led to the shooting and are asking anyone who may have information to call police at 410-307-2020.
