MDTA Police arrest two men transporting suspected heroin on I-95 in Baltimore County

BALTIMORE, MD—On Friday morning, a police officer assigned to the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police HEAT (Homeland Enforcement and Traffic) Team was on patrol on southbound Interstate 95 in Baltimore County.

The officer conducted a traffic stop on a white Honda Civic after allegedly observing that neither the driver of the vehicle nor a front seat passenger were restrained by a seat belt while the vehicle was in motion.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located 3,000 paper folds of suspected heroin packaged in a bag and hidden in the bottom of a bag of clothing. Both the driver and the passenger were arrested without incident.

Daquan M. Lovely, 28, of North Carolina, and Tyshawn M. Lovely, 25, of New Jersey, now face multiple traffic and drug charges.

Both suspects are being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
