Two Parkville High School students earn Opportunity Scholarship awards from College Board

PARKVILLE, MD – Eight Baltimore County Public Schools students from seven high schools have earned SAT Practice or SAT Build awards as part of the College Board Opportunity Scholarship program.  Two students from Parkville High School received awards.

The College Board invests $5 million per year in the College Board Opportunity Scholarship program, with half of the scholarships designated for students whose families earn less than $60,000 per year. Students are eligible to earn scholarships by taking several actions during specified windows in their junior and senior years. For example, recipients of the $1,000 Practice for the SAT Award are selected from a pool of students who study for at least six hours using the Official SAT® Practice on Khan Academy® during their junior and senior years.

Recipients of the $500 Build Your College List Award are selected from a pool of students who build a college list with at least six schools on BigFuture™ .
