Freeze Warning, Frost Advisory issued for Baltimore County

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory for portions of Baltimore County.

Both will be in effect from 3 a.m. – 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.

In northern Baltimore County, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 31 degrees are expected.

Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

In the Nottingham area, temperatures as low as 33 degrees will result in frost formation.

This is expected to be the coolest night of the season thus far in many spots.

Residents should take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
