Councilman Marks: More than $660,000 awarded to small businesses impacted by shutdown

PERRY HALL, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Wednesday announced that the county distributed $660,410 in grants to Fifth District small businesses this summer who were impacted by the shutdown earlier in 2020.

The money was made available through the federal stimulus package.

Councilman Marks’ office actively promoted the initiative, holding meetings with business groups and chambers of commerce from Towson to Perry Hall.

“The shutdown ordered by the state impacted everyone, but especially our small businesses,” said Councilman Marks. “Dozens of businesses received grants of up to $15,000 to help them get through that very difficult time in the late spring and early summer when there was no activity.”
