PERRY HALL, MD—Baltimore County Councilman David Marks on Thursday reported on the progress of the construction of new sound barriers along Interstate-95.
The southbound and northbound walls between Joppa Road and New Forge Road are both essentially done, according to Councilman Marks. There is some closeout work, but the walls are built.
The southbound wall between New Forge Road and the Big Gunpowder Falls will be the subject of bids on Friday.
The notice to proceed will be January 2021, with completion in early 2022.
“The residents who moved into Moores Meadows, Forge Landing, and other developments were unaware of any plans to widen Interstate-95,” said Councilman Marks. “I would like to thank the Maryland Transportation Authority and our state legislators for their support.”
