Coastal Flood Advisory issued for Baltimore area

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for portions of Baltimore County and Baltimore City.

The advisory will remain in effect until 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Up to one foot of inundation above ground level is expected in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.

Tides are expected to be 1.5 to 2 feet above normal. The next high tides at Fort McHenry Baltimore are at 6:10 p.m. and 6:40 a.m. The next high tides at Bowley Bar are at 7:19 p.m. and 8:01 a.m.

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
