NOTTINGHAM, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department has provided an update on Thursday evening’s pursuit and subsequent crash in Perry Hall/Nottingham.
Detective Robert P. Reason tells NottinghamMD.com that, at around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, officers initially received a call for a hit-and-run in the 8600-block of Belair Road (21236).
A witness followed the suspect vehicle to the 4300-block of Ebenezer Road. Officers responded, saw the vehicle, and attempted to stop it, but the vehicle did not stop, according police.
After a brief pursuit, the vehicle collided with another car at the intersection of Ebenezer Road and Carlisle Avenue. The vehicle continued on after the crash, hit a curb, drove over the sidewalk, and through two front yards before coming to rest in the 9000-block of Carlisle Avenue.
The adult male suspect then got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Contrary to prior witness reports, police say the occupants of the other vehicle were not injured.
Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
Charges are pending at this time.
